What is IPO Early Bird?
IPO Early Bird is a feature in Crypto.com Stocks that allows you to place limit orders for select IPOs up to three weeks before they begin trading. You’ll receive notifications about the initial price for IPOs you’ve ordered and can cancel your order any time before it’s filled.
This feature lets you plan ahead and place orders early so you don’t miss out on IPOs you’re interested in.
How do I place an IPO Early Bird order?
Follow these steps to place an order:
Tap the Stocks tab
Scroll down and select IPO Early Bird. Tap See all to view upcoming IPOs.
Tap on any IPO, and tap Place limit order if you want to place an order.
Set your pre-IPO limit price (the price you wish to pay, as a percentage above or below the initial IPO price)
Enter the number of shares you want to purchase
Review your order details and confirm the transaction
You will be notified when the initial IPO price is announced, and your limit order will be sent to the execution venue on the IPO date.
Important Notes:
The USD value of your limit price, based on your set percentage from the initial price, will be rounded up to two decimal places.
The estimated price range we show is based on the company’s public filings and third-party data. These are subject to change and shouldn’t be considered a reliable estimate of the company’s market value.
If you place a limit order with sufficient USD in your Stocks Cash and/or USD account, these funds will be locked starting around 8:00 a.m. ET on the IPO date until the order is either filled, cancelled by you, or expires at market close.
Orders are sent to the execution venue around 8:00 a.m. ET on the IPO date. Your order will not be executed above your specified limit price.
IPO stocks may not start trading exactly at market open due to exchange processing. It’s normal if your order isn’t filled immediately.
How do I cancel an IPO Early Bird order?
You can cancel an IPO Early Bird order if it has not been filled yet. To cancel a pending order:
From the Home screen, tap the top left menu icon and select Portfolio under Stocks
Review the Open orders and tap the order you wish to cancel
Tap the Cancel order button at the bottom of the screen and confirm the cancellation
