General Information
What is 24/5 Trading? 24/5 trading allows you to trade select US Equities and ETFs nearly 24 hours a day, from Sunday evening through Friday evening (8PM EST). This includes the regular market session, Extended Hours (Pre-Market and After-Hours), and the newly added Overnight Session.
Which stocks can I trade 24/5? Most major US-listed stocks and ETFs (Reg NMS) are available. However, OTC (Over-the-Counter) stocks are not supported for 24/5 or Extended Hours trading.
How to Trade
What order types are supported outside of Core Market Hours? To protect users from price volatility and lower liquidity, only Limit Orders are supported during Extended Hours and Overnight sessions.
Can I trade fractional shares 24/5? No. Only whole share orders are supported during Extended Hours and Overnight sessions. If you attempt to place a fractional order outside of Core Market Hours, you will be prompted to either:
Edit your order to a whole share amount to trade now.
Queue the fractional order for the next regular market open (9:30 AM ET).
How do I know which session my order belongs to? Your Order Confirmation and Transaction History screens will now include a "Trading Session" field:
24x5 Trading: Refers to orders placed/filled during the Overnight or Extended sessions.
Market Hours: Refers to orders filled during the Core market session (9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET).
