Recurring Buy for Stocks

Updated today

What is Recurring Buy for Stocks?

Recurring Buy for Stocks in the Crypto.com App allows you to periodically purchase a fixed amount of stocks, ETFs, or Whale Baskets at regular intervals, such as weekly or monthly.

This feature makes it easy to apply the dollar-cost averaging (DCA) strategy, where you invest the same amount on a set schedule, regardless of market price. Over time, DCA can help reduce the impact of market volatility, lower your average cost, and remove the emotional element of trying to time the market.

How do I schedule a Recurring Buy for Stocks?

To set up a Recurring Buy plan in the Crypto.com App:

  1. Go to the Stocks tab

  2. Select the stock, ETF, or basket you want to buy

  3. Tap the Buy button at the bottom of the screen

  4. Select Recurring Buy from the dropdown menu in the top-right corner

  5. Enter the dollar amount you wish to buy

  6. Select your purchase method and tap Review order

  7. Set how often you want the purchase to repeat and choose a start date

  8. Review your schedule details and confirm your instructions

Notes:

  • You can buy, sell, and hold fractional shares for most stocks. However, some stocks and ETFs don’t support fractional shares. For these, you can only buy whole shares, and Recurring Buy will automatically round down to the largest whole number of shares you can purchase each time.

  • By scheduling a Recurring Buy, you consent to having your linked bank accounts used as backup payment methods. If there are insufficient funds in your Stocks Cash or USD Account when a Recurring Buy is processed, the amount will be charged from your linked bank account and you will be notified via email.

Are there minimum purchase amounts for each purchase?

Yes, the minimum purchase amounts are as follows:

  • Stocks and ETFs: $1 (if fractional shares are supported), or 1 full share (if not)

  • Whale Baskets: $50

When will my scheduled purchases be executed?

Your first scheduled purchase will be executed on your selected start date. If you choose to start today, execution depends on market hours:

  • Orders scheduled before the U.S. market opens will be executed at around 10:00 am ET

  • Orders scheduled after 10:00 am ET and before market close will be executed immediately

Future scheduled purchases will be executed at around 10:00 am ET on each scheduled date.

How do I check my Recurring Buy schedule?

  1. Go to Recurring Buy in the main menu

  2. Use the Active or Inactive tabs to view your current and past schedules. You can filter your schedules by stock, ETF, or Whale Basket.

How do I cancel a Recurring Buy schedule?

  1. Go to Recurring Buy from the main menu

  2. Under the Active tab, select the schedule you want to cancel

  3. Tap Cancel at the bottom of the screen

How do I view my transaction history?

You can check your Recurring Buy transaction history in either of these ways:

  1. Go to the Stocks tab and tap the ‘clock’ icon in the top-right corner to view all your Stock transactions

  2. Go to Recurring Buy from the main menu and select a schedule and view its transaction history

What is the DCA Calculator?

The DCA Calculator lets you simulate the potential returns of investing on a regular schedule using historical price data.

To use this feature, go to Recurring Buy in the main menu and tap the Simulate your returns button at the bottom of the screen.

Please note: Prices shown are based on historical data, and past performance does not guarantee future results. The DCA Calculator provides hypothetical returns for reference only. It is not investment advice and does not recommend purchasing any specific security.
