To trade prediction markets and margined products on the Crypto.com Exchange, you must activate a dedicated Derivatives account. US regulations require funds used for futures and event contracts to be held separately from other assets to keep them segregated and protected.
Eligibility and Account Activation
The Derivatives account is available to US residents who have completed identity verification on the Exchange. Even if you already use the Crypto.com Exchange for spot trading, a separate short one-time activation is required. You will be prompted to activate automatically when placing your first prediction or futures order, or you can initiate activation via Settings, Portfolio, or order form entry points on web and mobile.
During activation, you will provide the following information:
Background information: Employment status, nature of business, employer, annual income, liquid net worth, trading experience, objectives, marital status, and dependents.
Address and SSN: US residential address and Social Security Number (skipped if previously verified).
Qualifying questions: Affiliation status with regulated exchanges or FCMs, and financial interest declarations.
Agreements: Review and acceptance of account agreements and disclosures.
