Information about EUR Bank Transfers via SEPA Network - deposits and common issues

Updated this week

How to deposit EUR via SEPA

EUR deposits are made via SEPA; a secure, instant payment service for transferring EUR within the EU. To make a deposit, use the personalised bank transfer details provided after you successfully set up your EUR wallet. You must initiate the transfer from your own bank account by setting up a new ‘payee’ in your banking app.

Only EUR transfers from bank accounts bearing your name will be accepted.

  1. To find your personal bank transfer details, from the App home screen tap Deposit > Fiat. OR, tap Accounts > Fiat Wallet > Transfer > Deposit.

  2. In your online bank app or portal, set up a new payee and enter the bank transfer details to deposit funds from your bank account to your Crypto.com account.

  3. We will notify you in the Crypto.com app and via email once your EUR bank transfer has been successfully deposited.

Troubleshooting

There are a few things to remember when making a bank transfer to your Crypto.com account:

  1. Euros: Only EUR SEPA** transfers will be accepted. A EUR transfer initiated from outside of SEPA will not be successful, and substantial fees for international transfer may be imposed on your funds.

  2. Your Named Account: We only accept transfers from bank accounts opened under your own name. 3rd party transfers will not be accepted (e.g. payments from your friends or family, customers, salary transferred by your employer, etc.)

  3. 3rd party transfers: We do not accept EUR transfers via 3rd party payments processing companies (e.g. Western Union, Stripe), or crypto exchanges. Deposits must be initiated directly from your bank account.

Submit a Proof of Payment

We can only accept deposits from bank accounts opened under your own name. In some cases you may be asked to provide your bank statement as a proof of payment for deposits to your Crypto.com EUR Wallet. Please note that the bank statement must meet the following criteria:

  1. Issued in the past 90 days

  2. Clearly shows the bank account holder’s full name, account number, the bank name, bank SWIFT/BIC code and country, and the transfer amount. Partially scanned, blurry or unclear documents will not be accepted

  3. Supported file types: JPEG, JPG, PNG

  4. Maximum file size: 10 mb

The steps to submit the proof of payment for the deposit are as follows:

  1. You will receive an email and a push notification requesting the proof of payment document

  2. On the Fiat Wallet screen, deposits that require proof of payment will be labelled with “Action Required”

  3. Select the “Action Required” deposit to submit a proof of payment document. You can take a photo, scan a document or choose from your device’s library. At least 1 document is required to proceed

  4. Once the document has been successfully submitted, the transaction status will change to “Under Review.” Please allow one to two business days for our team to process the document

Your funds will be refunded if:

  • No document is submitted within seven days of the notification. You can then initiate another deposit using the same bank account or use another bank account

  • The deposit is received from an account that is not under your name

Common Issues

The most common reasons your bank transfer is on hold or is unsuccessful are:

  • The name on the bank account you transferred from does not match the name you used to register on Crypto.com.

  • Your transferred funds came from a joint account.

  • Your transferred funds came from a payments processing company (e.g. Western Union, Stripe, etc.) or from an unsupported institution such as a crypto exchange.

  • Your transferred funds were not in EUR on the SEPA network.

When contacting our support, please be ready to provide us with supporting documents (e.g. a bank statement) showing your full name, the bank account you made the transfer from, and ideally the transaction itself.

Although SEPA deposits are free, your bank may charge you fees, specifically if you’re initiating your SEPA transfer from a non-EUR account. Please check with your bank before proceeding.
