Everything you need to know about the Recurring Buy feature in the Crypto.com App

Updated yesterday

What is Recurring Buy?

Recurring Buy is a feature in the Crypto.com App that makes investing effortless by automating your crypto purchases on a set schedule.

This allows you to implement the widely-used dollar-cost averaging (DCA) strategy, which helps smooth out your entry price over time and reduce the impact of market volatility.

Many investors prefer this approach as it minimises the risks of trying to time the market and takes emotions out of the investing process, making it a disciplined and reliable way to build your portfolio.

Recurring Buy Order Limit

Credit Card Purchase Limit (USD)

Basic: $1,000

Plus: $2,000

Pro: $5,000

How are the purchase limits calculated?

Since the number of Daily, Weekly, or Bi-weekly occurrences can vary each month, we use standard assumptions when calculating the monthly credit card purchase limit. This ensures that all scheduled purchases — whether Daily, Weekly, or Bi-weekly — fit within your monthly limit without any interruptions.

Please take note of the following limit purchase limit calculations:

Frequency

Calculation

Daily

Purchase amount ≤ Remaining monthly purchase limit ÷ 31

Weekly

Purchase amount ≤ Remaining monthly purchase limit ÷ 5

Bi-weekly

Purchase amount ≤ Remaining monthly purchase limit ÷ 3

Monthly

Purchase amount ≤ Remaining monthly purchase limit

Example:

You have a $5,000 monthly purchase limit.

You place a weekly $100 Recurring Buy order for BTC.

Your weekly purchase limit is $1,000, as calculated by:

$5,000 ÷ 5 = $1,000

Your remaining monthly limit is $4,500.

You then place a Bi-weekly $200 Recurring Buy order for ETH.

Your Bi-weekly purchase limit is $1,500, as calculated by:

$4,500 ÷ 3 = $1,500

Your remaining monthly limit is $4,500, as calculated by:

$4,500 - ( $200 x 3) = $3,900

Next, you place a Monthly $1,400 Recurring Buy order for CRO.

Your remaining monthly limit is now $2,500, as calculated by:

$3,900 - $1,400 = $2,500

Assume you cancel all Recurring Buy orders before the first execution date of all orders.

Your monthly purchase limit remaining after cancellation is $5,000, as calculated by:

$2,500 + Total amount of scheduled recurring purchase = $2,500 + $2,500 = $5,000

Assume you cancel all Recurring Buy orders after at least one purchase has been executed.

Your monthly purchase limit remaining after cancellation is $3,300, as calculated by:

$5,000 - Total amount of successful purchase of that month = $5,000 - ( $100 + $200 + $1,400) = $3,300
