Everything you need to know about buying, selling, and managing Crypto Baskets in the Crypto.com App

Updated over a week ago

What is Crypto Basket?

Crypto Baskets are predetermined coin bundles that allow you to diversify your portfolio by purchasing several coins in a single transaction, saving you time from having to buy each coin individually. Crypto Baskets can also help you purchase coins that are part of the same Web3 segment.

What are the benefits of buying a Crypto Basket?

Crypto Basket offers a quick and simple way to balance risk through diversification of individual coin holdings. You can choose from various baskets comprising multiple coins, enabling you to support several projects you believe in at once.

Moreover, you can choose to maintain a price-weighted allocation of the assets in your Crypto Baskets through rebalancing. This process redistributes top-performing coins into the others, so you would automatically buy low and sell high relative to the other tokens in your Crypto Basket.

You also have the flexibility to buy more of a Crypto Basket over time to apply the dollar-cost averaging strategy.

Who can purchase Crypto Baskets?

Rebalancing buys and sells portions of your portfolio to maintain a predetermined price-weighted allocation of each asset. Better-performing assets are redistributed to lower-performing ones, which means you are automatically buying low and selling high relative to the coins in your Crypto Basket. This is done periodically because the market value of each asset changes over time.

The feature is enabled by default, which means your baskets will be rebalanced every seven days from the date of purchase. You have the option to disable rebalancing when purchasing a basket or at any time after. See the ‘How do I enable or disable Crypto Basket rebalancing?’ section for details.
