Airdrop Arena

Points, leaderboard rankings, and token rewards.

Updated over a week ago

What is Airdrop Arena?

Airdrop Arena in the Crypto.com App allows users to earn rewards simply by allocating CRO from their Crypto Wallet to Airdrop Arena. Users earn points based on their Airdrop Arena allocated balance. These points are then used to determine their rewards in monthly events. The more points you earn, the higher your rank on the leaderboard. Higher ranks enjoy greater rewards.

Who is eligible for Airdrop Arena?

This feature is available for all Crypto.com App-approved users, except for citizens and residents of Hong Kong SAR.

How do I earn points in Airdrop Arena?

Points are earned when you allocate CRO to Airdrop Arena; every 100 CRO allocated earns you 1 point. Points are also earned daily during ongoing Airdrop Arena events based on your snapshot balance of allocated CRO and Point Boosters status at the point of calculation. Points are issued in whole numbers and rounded down to the nearest whole number.

After the first Airdrop Arena event you participated ends, only the points earned from CRO allocation will remain. Points earned daily during the event are not carried to the next event.

How does the leaderboard in Airdrop Arena work?

The leaderboard ranks users based on their total points tally. It is updated in real time, so you can view your current standing and how many points you need to advance to the next rank.

Higher Tiers = Higher Reward Rates

The top ranking participants per Airdrop Arena event receive a points multiplier:

  • Top 50 (Tier 1) - 10x total points

  • Next 2,000 (Tier 2) - 8x total points

  • Next 18,000 (Tier 3) - 6x total points

  • Next 20,000 (Tier 4) - 4x total points

  • Next 25,000 (Tier 5) - 2x total points

This multiplier is applied after totalling the points you earned and assigning you a rank on the leaderboard. It is used to calculate your estimated reward rate and final reward, but not displayed in your points history.

When will I receive my Airdrop Arena reward?

You will receive your Airdrop Arena reward in your Crypto Wallet within seven business days after each event. If you choose to activate the Loot Locker Point Booster, your rewards will be distributed to your Crypto Wallet after the lockup period ends. The token amount you receive in your Crypto Wallet is based on the price of the reward token at the point of distribution to your Crypto Wallet. Find out more about Loot Locker and other Point Boosters in the “Can I boost my points?” section in the FAQ.

What happens to my CRO after I allocate it to Airdrop Arena?

Each allocated CRO amount will be locked for six months. You will earn a one-time set of points for the allocation, and also daily during ongoing Airdrop Arena events based on your snapshot balance. Please note that you cannot withdraw your CRO before the 6-month lockup period ends.

What are Airdrop Arena events?

These are limited-time events which typically run monthly and last for a month each. During each event period, users can earn points daily. Then, at the end of every event, rewards are distributed based on the total points earned.

What is the total value of rewards I can receive by participating in Airdrop Arena events?

Rewards for each event are based on the total points you earn relative to the points earned by the other participants. The higher your points tally, the more rewards you win.

Example:

The total value of rewards to be distributed for Event A is US$10,000.

The total points earned by all users in this event is 10,000.

The reward amount per point for Event A is calculated by:

US$10,000 ÷ 10,000 = US$1

If you have 500 points at the end of Event A, your reward amount is:

US$1 × 500 = US$500

Can I participate in multiple Airdrop Arena events at the same time?

No, as only one Airdrop Arena event is ongoing at any point in time. However, users are automatically enrolled in subsequent Airdrop Arena events after their first Airdrop Arena allocation.

Can I boost my points?

Users can choose to activate Point Boosters and build their points earning potential. The Airdrop Arena currently offers four Point Boosters:

  • Loot Locker: Activate this by agreeing to lock up the rewards you earn in a particular event. The respective reward amount will be locked for six months. You will then enjoy a daily event points boost to 200%. Once you enable Loot Locker for an event, you cannot deactivate it until the event ends.

  • Swift Starter: Be among the first 10,000 users to make an allocation in each event. Your next daily event points will be boosted to 120%. To check whether this Point Booster is still available:

    • Before your first allocation, navigate to Airdrop Arena, right above the Transfer button, and you will see a prompt for Swift Starter

    • After your first allocation, navigate to Airdrop Arena and scroll down to the Point Boosters section. If it is still available, the Transfer button will be displayed. Otherwise, a ‘Not Applicable’ message will be shown.

  • Rewards+ Voyager: Achieve at least Level 5 in Rewards+ and enjoy a daily event points boost of up to 160%. The Rewards+ programme and this Point Booster’s availability vary by jurisdiction. For more information on Rewards+, please refer to this page.

  • Task Master: Purchase at least 1,500 CRO (via fiat or cryptocurrency in the Crypto.com App) and then transfer at least 1,500 CRO into Airdrop Arena to enjoy a daily event points boost of up to 120%. Only purchases made after the event has started will count towards the purchase requirement.

Tip: Make sure you complete the purchase task before allocating your CRO.

How is my Airdrop Arena reward rate calculated?

Your estimated reward rate is updated at least once every hour and finalised at the end of each event.

Each participant sees their total points calculated by:

  • Total Airdrop Arena CRO balance (100 CRO = 1 point)

  • Points received daily (With Point Boosters included)

Based on your total points tally, you are ranked on the leaderboard and your rank falls into a tier. The top ranking participants receive a points multiplier based on their tier.

  • Top 50 (Tier 1) - 10x total points

  • Next 2,000 (Tier 2) - 8x total points

  • Next 18,000 (Tier 3) - 6x total points

  • Next 20,000 (Tier 4) - 4x total points

  • Next 25,000 (Tier 5) - 2x total points

The rewards for each event are based on the total points you earn relative to the points earned by the other participants after applying the aforementioned points multiplier. This multiplier is applied to the calculation, but not displayed in your points history.

The value of your reward rate is calculated based on your CRO allocation (in US$) and your expected reward (in US$).

How can I check my current points and leaderboard ranking?

You can check your current points and leaderboard ranking by navigating to the Airdrop Arena landing page. There are many ways to do this, but one of the simplest is to open the Crypto.com App, tap on the three lines at the top left of the home screen, and tap on ‘Airdrop Arena’ to view your points and leaderboard details.

Why does my reward rate differ from another user with the same points as me?

Your reward rate is based on your CRO allocation and your expected reward. Two users might have the same total points and hence the same expected reward value but different CRO allocations. This can happen if one user allocated fewer CRO but has more Point Boosters, while the other allocated more CRO but has fewer or even no Point Boosters. Even though the total points and reward amount calculated for these two users are the same, the reward rate denominator is smaller for the user who allocated fewer CRO.

Example:

  • A allocated 1,200 CRO, earning 12 deposit points (100 CRO = 1 point) and 12 event points without any Point Boosters

  • B allocated 800 CRO, earning 8 deposit points (100 CRO = 1 points) and 16 event points with a 200% Loot Locker Point Booster

  • Both A and B have a total of 24 points each, but B allocated fewer CRO then A and will therefore have a different reward rate.

Why was my estimated reward rate updated?

Your estimated reward rate is based on your CRO allocation and your expected reward. It is updated at least once every hour and finalised at the end of each event.

The expected rewards for each event are based on the total points you earn relative to the points earned by the other participants.

Example:

  • On day 1 of Event A, there are 2 participants:

    • Participant A has a total of 5,000 points

    • Participant B has a total of 5,000 points

The total value of rewards to be distributed for Event A is US$10,000.

The total points earned by all participants is 10,000.

The reward amount per point for Event A is calculated by:

US$10,000 ÷ 10,000 = US$1

Participant A’s expected reward is: US$1 × 5,000 = US$5,000

Participant B’s expected reward is: US$1 × 5,000 = US$5,000

  • On day 2 of Event A, a new participant joins:

    • Participant A has a total of 6,000 points

    • Participant B has a total of 7,000 points

    • Participant C has a total of 1,000 points

The total points earned by all participants is now 14,000.

The reward amount per point for Event A is calculated by:

US$10,000 ÷ 14,000 = US$0.714285714

Participant A’s expected reward is: ~US$0.71 × 6,000= US$4,286

Participant B’s expected reward is: ~US$0.71 × 7,000= US$5,000

Participant C’s expected reward is: ~US$0.71 × 1,000= US$714

Participant A’s expected rewards changed from US$5,000 to US$4,286 when Participant C joined. Therefore, participant A’s reward rates would be updated.

Why did my reward rate fall after a new allocation?

After a new allocation is made, it is normal to observe a temporary drop in your estimated reward rate. This rate is estimated by dividing the expected reward (in US$) by the CRO allocation (in US$) and annualising it over a fixed 30-day period.

The drop occurs because it takes time for your new funds to accumulate rewards even though your CRO allocation has increased immediately. As these additional funds continue generating rewards daily, the estimated reward rate will gradually adjust to better reflect the rewards on the total balance over time.

Are there any limits to the number of points I can earn?

No, there are no limits to the number of points you can earn in Airdrop Arena or the amount of CRO you can allocate to Airdrop Arena.

Which cryptocurrencies can be allocated to Airdrop Arena?

Currently, only CRO is available for allocation in Airdrop Arena.

Can I withdraw my CRO after the 6-month lockup period ends?

Yes, you can withdraw your CRO to your Crypto Wallet after the 6-month lockup period ends. The minimum withdrawal amount is US$0.01. The amounts that are locked and ready for withdrawal can be both found on the Airdrop Arena balance page.

Simply navigate to ‘Airdrop Arena’ and tap on Airdrop Arena Balance.

What happens when I withdraw my CRO from Airdrop Arena after the lockup period ends?

Once you withdraw your CRO from Airdrop Arena, the CRO should immediately be available in your Crypto Wallet. Deposit points are deducted based on the withdrawn amount, with 1 point deducted for every 100 CRO withdrawn. Points are rounded down to the nearest whole number, with a minimum deduction of 1 point.

Additionally, please note that your ranking on the leaderboard may be affected and the rewards you receive in the next day’s event rewards will be impacted.

Can I keep my CRO in Airdrop Arena after the lockup period ends?

Yes, the allocated CRO in Airdrop Arena continues to earn you points daily during ongoing Airdrop Arena events after the lockup period ends.

Are there any fees for participating in Airdrop Arena?

There are no additional fees for allocating CRO to or withdrawing CRO from the Airdrop Arena. However, standard fees may apply when buying CRO in the Crypto.com App, which can then be allocated to Airdrop Arena.

Will I be notified about my Airdrop Arena points and rewards?

You will receive a notification of your daily points after it is issued when you return to the Airdrop Arena page. Additionally, you will receive an email with details on the rewards earned after each event.
