What is a TWAP Order?

A Time-Weighted Average Price (TWAP) order is an algorithmic/bot order request type that employs a strategy of executing buy or sell trades at regular intervals during a predetermined time frame.

What is a TWAP Buy Order?

It is a Buy Order to purchase a cryptocurrency at regular intervals during a predetermined time frame.

What is a TWAP Sell Order?

It is a Sell Order to liquidate your balance for a cryptocurrency at regular intervals during a predetermined time frame.

Can I amend a TWAP Order?

TWAP Orders cannot be amended, but they can be cancelled.

Can I cancel a TWAP Order?

You can always cancel your TWAP order (unless specified) by going to your Transaction History in the Crypto.com App and tapping Open Orders > Cancel Order. However, this will be subject to the status of your order. If your order has been filled, no cancellations will be allowed.

Is there an expiry date for a TWAP Order?

There is no expiry date. Your order will be ‘Open’ until the bot fully completes its orders.

How can I check my order status?

You can do so by going to your Transaction History in the App and tapping Open Orders. We will also notify you when your order is executed via an in-app notification and an email.

Order Statuses

There are four statuses for TWAP orders:

  • Active Processing - When your order execution is in process

  • Completed - When your order is executed

  • Pending Cancel - When your “Cancel Order” execution is in process

  • Cancelled - When your order is cancelled

When will my TWAP Order be executed?

TWAP Orders will be executed when you confirm and place your order. However, your order will remain ‘Open’ until the first predetermined time frame.

Payment methods

You can set up TWAP Orders using your Crypto Wallet and Fiat Wallet in the Crypto.com App.

How are my funds/cryptocurrencies withdrawn from my account?

When you place a TWAP Order, we will immediately lock the respective funding amount for TWAP Buy Orders, or the respective cryptocurrency to be sold for TWAP Sell Orders. The funds or cryptocurrency cannot be used elsewhere in the Crypto.com App after the order is placed.

You will not be able to withdraw or transfer the respective funds or tokens if your order status is ‘Active’. If you would like access them, please cancel your TWAP Order.

Note:

  • Maximum TWAP Orders: 10 live orders per user

  • Maximum TWAP Orders per token: 1 live order per user

  • When users place a TWAP Order, we will lock up the relevant funding amount or cryptocurrency amount immediately. These funds or cryptocurrencies will no longer be available for use elsewhere in the App

Which markets are eligible for the TWAP Order feature?

The TWAP Order feature is available to approved Crypto.com App users in all jurisdictions.
